The day is finally here. The children have been waiting for weeks, maybe months, and now it’s time for their first communion. They’re all dressed up in their Sunday best surrounded by family and friends. And I was ready to create the best photography a could to represent this overcast day in miami.
It’s a day for children to celebrate and be proud of their faith. It is also a special day because it is the first time they are able to take communion with other Catholic members of their church. Communion day, or the “First Holy Communion,” usually takes place when children are 7-8 years old. This is an important milestone in their life and parents should do everything possible to make sure that this event goes smoothly!
Going to churches always reminds me of the shoots I had in Italy. I will never forget being in Assisi. What an amazing place on earth.

Small groups are best for these types of shoot. I usually photograph half of the group ahead or the mass, and the other half after. This makes it easier so children don’t have to wait to long for their turn. Feel free to reach out if you have a similar event you would like me to cover CONTACT.
